Winchester, MA Homes for Sale

Winchester is the town I have the hardest time getting buyers out of once they've seen it — two train stops to North Station (Winchester Center and Wedgemere), a real downtown, the Mystic Lakes, and street after street of Victorian and early-1900s architecture. It photographs like a movie set and lives even better.

The catch is inventory: there's never enough. The Flats near the center and anything walkable to the depot carry premiums and vanish in days; the west side toward Woburn is the softer entry. A properly renovated Victorian close to the train is the single most contested product I see north of Boston.

Between the Winchester schools and the town-center life, this is a market you wait for rather than shop. My standing advice to Winchester buyers: set the search, be patient for months if needed, and when the right house shows up — and it will, usually once a season — act like it's the only one, because it is.
